  1. Unbox your Ledger device and inspect the contents. You should have the hardware wallet, a USB cable, a getting started leaflet, recovery sheets, and a keychain strap.

  2. Download and install the Ledger Live application on your desktop computer or mobile device. Ledger Live is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.

  3. When you first open Ledger Live, you have three options:

    • Set up a new Ledger device

    • Restore from a recovery phrase if you already have a Ledger configured

    • Skip device setup if you already have a Ledger device set up

  4. If setting up a new device, follow the on-screen prompts to initialize your Ledger. This includes setting up a PIN code and writing down your recovery phrase.

  5. Once your Ledger device is set up, you can connect it to Ledger Live by plugging it in via the USB cable. The Ledger Live app will then detect and sync your device.

  6. After connecting, you can start adding cryptocurrency accounts to Ledger Live by installing the relevant apps on your Ledger device through the Ledger Live app. This allows you to manage your crypto assets securely.
